Legal Practice Director

As a Practice Director in employment law, Dean has extensive experience in Australian workplace laws, particularly those relevant to the building and construction industry, local government, manufacturing, education and engineering including all aspects of managing unlawful industrial action, right of entry disputes, unfair dismissals and general protections.

Dean has significant experience appearing in the Fair Work Commission, regularly representing clients in large and complex industrial disputes and advocating in unfair dismissal and adverse action matters.

Working closely with CEOs and executive management teams, Dean is often sought out for his expertise in project scoping, risk management and disputes.

Clients Large & Small:

Local Government, Manufacturing, Education, Mining, and Construction are the largest full-time employers in Queensland.  Dean has a close understanding of these businesses, their diverse markets, activities, pressures, costs, weaknesses and strengths.

Dean has advised some of Australia’s largest organisations including builders, retailers and developers. Dean regularly assists clients with their operations throughout Australia.

Industry Representation:

With a long history of making submissions to the State Government including representing several peak bodies on industry policy issues and proposed legislative changes before Parliamentary Committees. Dean has the experience to assist clients, interest groups or industries wishing to engage in the legislative process or policy development.

Formal Qualifications

  • Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice.

  • Bachelor of Laws.

  • Bachelor of Commerce (IR & OBHRM).

  • Admitted to practice in the High Court of Australia

  • Admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Queensland

  • Member of the Queensland Law Society

  • Member of the Queensland Law Society – Industrial Law Committee

  • Member of the Industrial Relations Society of Queensland

  • Member of the Urban Development Institute of Australia
